Earlier this year, we moved to new staff profiles on the external website: profiles.shu.ac.uk To help you access your new staff profile, and to write it, we are organising several sessions which will be led by Dr Lisa McGrath. Lisa is an associate professor in educational linguistics in the Sheffield Institute of Education. She teaches and researches writing.
These sessions will enable you to get your new staff profile written. We will start with a couple of tasks to raise awareness of the kind of promotional language used in these profiles, and then you will have time to write your own. As you write, you can draw on prompts provided and at elbow support from Lisa. The aim will be to have your profile completed by the end of the session.
The sessions will run as follows:
- Wednesday 4 November 2026 | 15:00 – 16:30 | online | Staff only session | Staff online session booking link
- Monday 14 December | 13:00 – 15:00 | Doctoral Student session | In-person (venue TBC) | Student session booking link
- Wednesday 6 January 2027 | 15:00 – 16:30 | Staff only session | In-person (venue TBC) | Staff in-person session booking link
