Eligibility: This workshop is exclusively for researchers from racially minoritised groups. It aims to provide a supportive environment where PGR can share experiences, build networks, and gain tailored personal development opportunities.
This 1-Day intensive workshop delivered in partnership with GRIT Breakthrough Programmes is designed to empower you with the confidence and the sense of belonging to become powerful advocates for your researcher journey. Through the workshop you will tap into your sense of agency, leadership, resilience and self-efficacy so that new goals become possible.
Critically, the Grit approach starts with you – it gives you a rare opportunity to examine your operating system and some of the limits or blind spots that may impact the way you see yourself, your education and what is possible.
By participating you have the opportunity to:
– Explore your identity through the lens of race, and what this means for you as a researcher within the higher education space
– Uncover your strengths and areas for growth through innovative coaching models and practices
– Connect to your community of postgraduate research students with similar lived experiences
– Reflect on your current challenges, and explore new approaches to overcome them
– Delve into your sense of purpose and identity
– Gain exclusive access to paid opportunities through the Equity in Doctoral Education through Partnership and Innovation programme.
During the workshop, there will be lots of debate, discussion and questioning around your experience as postgraduate researchers, how your identity intersects with your education and how can you use what you are learning about yourself to achieve your goals.
If you have any questions regarding the workshop, please feel free to email EDEPI@shu.ac.uk.
