DESCRIPTION:Thursday 27 November | 13:00-15:00\nOnline\n\nWe know that supp
 orting students’ writing is one of the most important\, but also one of 
 the most frustrating and challenging aspects of the supervisory journey. 
  We all know that doctoral students find writing challenging\, complicated
 \, alien\, frustrating and so on\, and as supervisors\, our job to help st
 udents meet that challenge.\n\nThe aim of this workshop is to begin the wo
 rk of supporting our supervisors better when it comes to working with thei
 r doctoral students’ writing. The workshop will begin by providing a fra
 me for thinking about what it means to write at the doctoral level and the
  role of the supervisor\, followed by an exploration of concrete strategie
 s and materials for working with your students’ writing.\n\nWho is it fo
 r? This session is for PhD supervisors and will be run by Dr Lisa McGrat
 h\, associate professor of educational linguistics in the Sheffield Instit
