DESCRIPTION:Secondary analysis offers a great option for dissertation stude
 nts who are looking to gain experience working with data but who have limi
 ted abilities to go out into the field or would like to study a hard-to-re
 ach population.\n\nThis free workshop will take you through the research p
 rocess of a secondary analysis project\, including an overview of the meth
 odological and ethical issues.\n\nJoin us to learn how to access and get s
 tarted with quantitative and qualitative data and discuss some key points 
 to include in your dissertation write-up.\n\nAs part of this interactive w
 orkshop\, you'll be given a guided walk-through of some of our data catalo
 gue pages\, and get to explore a downloaded dataset and test your knowledg
 e of the research cycle.\n\nIf you are a final year student looking for in
 spiration for your current project or simply trying to evaluate options fo
 r next year’s dissertation\, this workshop will help you start thinking 
 about how to complete a successful secondary analysis project and ensure y
 ou get valuable research experience during your degree.\n\nPresenters: Mau
 reen Haaker and Alle Bloom\n\nThis is an introductory workshop which assum
 es no prior experience of using archived data.\n\nTarget audience: Undergr
 aduate and postgraduate students completing dissertations\n\nWe will be us
 ing Mentimeter to ask questions in this workshop so you may benefit from h
 aving a second device ready for this\, such as a smartphone.\n\nThis event
