SUMMARY:Supporting doctoral students’ writing (NPGRN Programme)
DESCRIPTION:This session will emphasise the critical role of supervisors in
  the development of their doctoral students’ writing. Drawing on writing
  research and experience\, I will share strategies supervisors can use to 
 help doctoral students become confident writers and produce the thesis. Pa
 rticipants will also be encouraged to share their own strategies for suppo
 rting their supervisees’ writing development. \n\nLisa McGrath (Sheffie

 ern PGR Network (NPGRN) Supervisor Development Programme\, a collaboration
  between four ESRC-funding Doctoral Training Partnerships. It is open to a
 ll PGR Supervisors in the social sciences across the network. The programm
 e offers bitesize (one hour)\, engaging sessions aimed at opening up dialo
 gues and fostering and developing reflective practice. It also seeks to fa
 cilitate peer-to-peer exchange\, learning and support and is led and infor
 med by research evidence and Supervisor experiences.
