SUMMARY:SERI Supervisor Training Developing your students’ White Rose pro
 posal
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is designed to support colleagues working with po
 tential White Rose PhD pathway candidates. White Rose is extremely competi
 tive\; research proposals need to be expertly written if they are to be su
 ccessful and that usually requires significant input from you\, the potent
 ial supervisor. In this workshop\, you will take part in a series of analy
 sis tasks aimed at raising awareness of what makes a successful White Rose
  proposal and develop strategies to help you support your potential PGR st
 udent.\n\nThe workshop will be held face-to-face in the Sheffield Institut
 e of Education. Participants are requested to bring laptops. No teaching m
 aterials will be printed unless specifically requested. Lunch will be prov

 n associate professor and White Rose doctoral training partnership deput
 y director in the Sheffield Institute of Education. Lisa has published wid
 ely on academic writing\, and specifically doctoral writing and writing fo
 r publication. She is associate editor of the Journal of English for Acade
 mic Purposes and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Second La
 nguage Writing. Lisa supervises both PhD and EdD students…and of course 
 works with them on their writing.
