Speaker: Ayse Sargin
Place-based struggles are social movements in which contention and claims centre around a particular place which is perceived as significant by a movement for its needs, values and priorities. I discuss how to study identity and culture in place-based movements by reflecting on and sharing practical insights from my own qualitative research on place-based socio-environmental struggles.
