SUMMARY:SERI PGR Training - Writing and publishing your first research arti
 cle
DESCRIPTION:This one-day workshop is designed to introduce you to the proce
 ss of writing and publishing your first research article in a social scien
 ce discipline. We look at how to choose a journal\; how to write for that 
 specific journal\; and we will go behind the scenes of the peer-review pro
 cess. This workshop is highly recommended for any student planning on writ
 ing a research paper for publication in the near future.\n\nThe workshop w
 ill be held face-to-face in the Sheffield Institute of Education. Particip
 ants are required to bring laptops. No teaching materials will be printed

 oft Forms.\n\nDr Lisa McGrath is an associate professor and White Rose doc
 toral training partnership deputy director in the Sheffield Institute of E
 ducation. Lisa has published widely on academic writing\, and specifically
  doctoral writing and writing for publication. She is associate editor of 
 the Journal of English for Academic Purposes and serves on the editorial b
 oard of the Journal of Second Language Writing. Lisa supervises both PhD a
 nd EdD students…and of course works with them on their writing.
