DESCRIPTION:Equity in Higher Education: Embracing Empathy\, Recognising Pri
 vilege\, and Embracing Inclusivity\n\nJoin us for an insightful workshop o
 n equity in higher education and the imperative need for empathy toward un
 derrepresented groups in PGR. This is a 4-hour training delivered in Stodd
 art-7139 on 29th January 12:30pm – 4pm. Light lunch is provided for thos
 e attending from 12:30-1:00pm.\n \nThis workshop will explore the crucial
  themes of privilege and perspective while delving into the historical leg
 acies of racism\, slavery\, and colonialism\, examining their enduring imp
 act on ethnic minority students. Together\, we'll uncover the power of rec
 ognising our privileges and discuss strategies for leveraging them to supp
 ort and uplift our students effectively. We will explore the Yoruba concep
 t of Omoluabi\, which emphasises virtues and community values\, and the Af
 rican philosophy of Ubuntu\, celebrating shared humanity. We'll discuss th
 e significance of British values in higher education and examine how they 
 contribute to creating inclusive environments. The session will also guide
  participants on transitioning from non-racist to anti-racist attitudes\, 
 offering strategies for actively challenging discrimination and promoting
