SUMMARY:NCRC Conversation Series: Foundations for Success: The Supervisor a
 nd PGR Partnership Agreement
DESCRIPTION:NCRC Conversation Series: Foundations for Success: The Supervis
 or and PGR Partnership Agreement\n\nTuesday 6th May 2025\, 1:00 - 2:00pm\n
\nJoin NCRC for a conversation exploring how Supervisor and PGR Partnershi
p Agreements can support open discussion to prevent misalignment of object
ives and establish clear expectations from the outset.\n\nThe supervisory
relationship is a crucial factor in the success of a PhD. This relationshi
p is often built on a shared interest in the research project\, which can
play a significant role in fostering a strong working connection. However\
, as with any relationship\, conflicts or disagreements can arise\, leadin
g to tension or even a breakdown in communication.\n\nLed by Lina Al Jabba
r from Southampton University\, we will hear how they used a variety of me
thods to identify key topics of discussion that could help establish a hea
lthy and productive working relationship early in the research process. Th
e resulting Supervisor and PGR Partnership Agreement outlines the shared r
esponsibilities of both parties in this relationship\, the key points to b
e addressed and mutually agreed upon\, ensuring a positive and collaborati
ve experience throughout the research project.\n\nPresenter:\n\nLina Al Ja
bbar is the Research Culture Lead in the Doctoral College at the Universi
ty of Southampton. In this role\, she focuses on understanding the challen
ges that impact the experiences of postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and wor
ks to enhance research culture through various projects and initiatives.\n
\nRegistration is now open. All welcome.
