SUMMARY:Intermediate Supervisor Development Award - Session 3
DESCRIPTION:The Intermediate Supervisor Development Award is designed to su
pport research supervisors to develop their practice as they progress thei
r supervision activity. It provides an opportunity for Sheffield Hallam su

achieve the Award requires completion of three sessions: Managing Relation

upport and Continuous Professional Development.\n\nPlease note\, this cros
s-university development programme replaces the Supervisor Passport initia
tive. It forms part of a central three-pronged supervisor development offe

rt (offering opportunities for good supervisory practice to be recognised

of providing meaningful feedback and support. The themes covered in this s
ession will include:\n\n· Discussing conceptions and misconceptions of re
search\n· Considering issues of academic integrity\, intellectual propert
y\, co-publications\n· Finalising and developing research topics\, method
ologies\, proposals and ethics\n· Advising on skills development and unde
rstanding the available support systems within the University for Doctoral
students.\n· How to provide constructive and actionable feedback\n· Mod
elling the process of publication\n· Establishing a post-doctoral dissemi
