Course description
This course in Journal Article Writing is aimed at early career researchers who want to improve the output and quality of their scientific writing. In this course we cover how to plan, develop and write high-quality text for journal articles, using real-life examples. We focus on the writing skills that you need to succeed as a researcher, whether writing articles, theses or reports: writing concisely, writing precisely, improving style, and finding the right tone for your audience. Our trainers have extensive experience as editors and bring their insider knowledge to the course.
The course also teaches participants project management for manuscripts and the formal writing and editing cycle – with practical tips on how to edit and proofread your own work and use MS Word, reference managers, and free software tools.
This workshop is aimed at academic and research staff and PGR students.
