SUMMARY:Doctoral Supervisor Development Programme
DESCRIPTION:The programme is aimed at:  The main target audience is new st
 aff without previous research supervisor experience and/or research superv
 isors who have yet to supervise a doctoral programme to completion.\n\nOve
 rall programme aims:  To disseminate information relevant to the process 
 of the supervision of doctoral researchers\, to assist staff to develop an
 d enhance effective research supervision skills and to facilitate the deve
 lopment and sharing of good practice.\n\nProgramme Leaders: Prof Doug Cle
 aver and Dr Nicola Palmer – supported by the Researcher and Innovator De
 velopment Academy.\n\nIn academic year 2025/2026 the course will run twice
  – 19th-20th January 2026 and 20th-21st May 2026 – as 2 day intensive 
 face to face sessions delivered on campus only. Additionally participants
  have the option to complete the course online via asynchronous content\, 
 followed by a 1hr live drop in session. Attendees will be attached to a c
 ourse-specific Blackboard site prior to the start of the cohort for which 
 they have secured a place.\n\nApplying for a place: please speak with you
 r local Head of Research Degrees (HoRD) or PGRT to discuss your attendance
 \, and then fill in your details on our Expression of Interest form to e
 xpress your interest in the 2025/26 programme.
