Wednesday 19th November, 9.15am-4.30pm
Online via Teams
This online journal article writing workshop will support academics and researchers using a highly successful writing technique. If you have data ready to publish, and/or an idea for an article then this is the workshop for you.
What is the goal of the course? The course will show you how to prepare, write and submit an original journal article that has a good chance of being accepted for publication. It will also set you well on the way to doing so.
Do I need to bring anything with me to the workshop? The most important thing to bring is an idea for a journal article. Ideally you should have collected the data. During the day you will be working this idea up into an article.
What will the course cover? The course goes through the process of writing a paper in 10 easy stages, starting from understanding the game and ending with writing the covering letter and sending off the “package”.
Is this the right course for me? This course is for anyone who is writing – or about to write – an article for a peer reviewed journal. It is particularly suitable for those who feel intimidated by those who already have their names on the databases. It is about the writing process and is not a course on technical editing or critical appraisal.
What is the format of the course? The courses are run informally, with plenty of time for discussion and practical work. The course will start promptly at 9.30, but we ask participants to join by 9.15. There will be breaks. The course will normally end at 4.30.
Delivered by Jamie Hayes, JMH Collaborations.
